UPIHC Spring Block Party
The TechLink TRAX Study team was invited to participate in the UPIHC Spring Block Party on Saturday, June 8, 2024, held at Pia Okwai at Tracy Aviary. This event aimed to strengthen community bonds, promote local businesses, and celebrate the cultural diversity of the Pacific Islander community. The study team brought an ice cream truck, which they utilized to educate participants about the study and give away free ice cream and UTA passes.
HEAL Utah’s Air, Art & Alternative Transportation Festival
The TechLink TRAX Study team was invited to participate in HEAL Utah’s Air, Art, & Alternative Transportation Festival on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at Jordan Park. This event was created to combine environmental awareness with artistic expression. The study team brought an ice cream truck and gave away free ice cream while educating participants about the study.
Rose Park Neighborhood Center
The TechLink TRAX Study team was invited to present at the Rose Park Neighborhood Center’s free Summer Intensive English Program for youth in grades 7–11 on Monday, June 17, 2024. Study members provided lunch while presenting in Spanish about the TechLink TRAX Study and the services that UTA provides.
Snax and TRAX
The TechLink TRAX Study team organized two pop-up events for TRAX riders at City Center Station (Friday, November 17, 2023) and North Temple Bridge Station (Tuesday, December 5, 2023). The study team collected feedback at the event from avid TRAX riders, featured an interactive map exercise, and provided snacks to those who participated.
Season of Service
The TechLink TRAX Study team was invited to join Utah Transit Authority (UTA) as they participated in the Season of Service Thanksgiving Dinner event on Monday, November 20, 2023, at the Salt Palace Convention Center. The event was hosted by The Larry H. Miller Company and aimed to provide a Thanksgiving meal, entertainment, kids activities, and resources to those currently facing homelessness. Participants were asked how they used the TRAX system, where they traveled to and from, and how TRAX could be improved to better serve their needs.
Granary Business and Developer Meeting
The TechLink TRAX Study team and Granary District Area Plan team organized a combined community event for Granary District businesses and developers at Industry SLC on Tuesday, December 12, 2023. The event aimed to involve developers and businesses in two ongoing transportation studies and featured presentations and Q&A sessions facilitated by representatives from the UTA and Salt Lake City.
Community Based Organization (CBO) Workshop
UTA hosted an engaging event surrounding the topic of the TechLink TRAX Study for community-based organizations (CBOs) at the Rose Park Neighborhood Center on Thursday, April 11, 2024. CBOs are groups with a common interest that come together to serve targeted populations within their communities. One of the goals of the Techlink TRAX Study is to increase connectivity throughout the Salt Lake Valley to allow for greater education and employment opportunities for low-income and minority populations.
Circles Salt Lake Event
The TechLink TRAX Study team organized a CBO event held at Circles Salt Lake on Thursday, May 16, 2024. The TechLink TRAX Study team gave a presentation and hosted a short Q&A session while attendees enjoyed dinner provided courtesy of the study team.
